Cricket:Glenn McGrath says he'll be fit for the second Ashes Test despite a painful heel injury.
McGrath remains a doubt for tomorrow's showdown in Adelaide because of a nagging blister at the back of his left heel.
The 36-year-old paceman said it was so painful it was "ridiculous" and worse than anything he had experienced in his 13-year Test career.
McGrath bowled tentatively in his first net session, but afterwards declared himself ready after bowling five overs.
"That is as good as I could have hoped," he told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I'm really happy there. What we've done has worked.
"What I feel now is what I've felt in other Test matches that I've played and got through easily. If it's up to me I'm in. There's no problem."
Australia will wait until the morning before deciding whether to risk McGrath veteran, who starred with 6-50 in the first innings of the first Test.
It was McGrath's first first-class game in 10 months, and the home side won it by 277 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series.
If he's not fit for Adelaide he'll be replaced either by Shaun Tait or Mitchell Johnson.
