Sinn Féin's Mr Martin McGuinness has repeated his call on the British government to lift the suspension of the North's political institutions.
Speaking from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Mr McGuinness said they should "immediately lift their unilateral suspension of the political institutions and proceed with the agenda of change which they committed themselves to over five years ago in the Good Friday Agreement."
He said Davos provided "an invaluable opportunity for world leaders to hear at first hand the history of our peace process but also the difficulties that we face at this time." He said it would also add to the
pressure on the British government in particular to "move urgently to resolve the political crisis."
He that 'it was clear from the interest generated [at Davos] by the section of the conference on the Irish Peace Process, that it was the overwhelming view of international opinion that the gains made over the past ten years cannot be squandered in the time ahead'.
Mr McGuinnes said " I made it clear once again that the British government cannot allow an anti-Agreement minority to over-ride the wishes of the vast majority of the people of Ireland."
