Racing:Andrew McNamara is eyeing a weekend return after suffering an ankle injury at Galway on Monday.
The jockey was partnering Benalma in the Castlegar Handicap Chase but pulled up his mount after being struck by a stirrup.
Initial fears were that McNamara had broken his ankle but his agent Gary Cribbin is pleased to report the injury is not that serious.
“He’s had the X-rays and thankfully, the ankle is not broken,” said Cribbin. “He’s just badly twisted it and it’s quite bruised, but he is hoping to be back at Naas on Saturday.

“It was a bit of a worry as he is flying at the moment and having a really good season, but thankfully it’s good news.”
