Racing: Iktitaf has been ruled out of tomorrow's Anglo Irish Bank Corporate Treasury Tolworth Hurdle after getting cast in his box.
Noel Meade's runner would have been a likely short-priced market leader for the Sandown event, but he has been withdrawn on veterinary advice.
"He got cast in his box and has just banged himself," explained Meade. "The vet's had a look at him and he just feels it would be foolish to take a chance with him."
Meade continued: "It's nothing too serious, he just gave himself a bit of a rap and has banged his hock."
Iktitaf, a Grade One winner at Fairyhouse last time, arrived at Sandown on Thursday and Meade is keen to get him home and assess his condition before finding alternative targets.
He added: "I really don't know what we will do until he gets home. He's been in Sandown since Thursday so I won't know how he is until I see him - I've only spoken to the vet today so we will have to wait and see."
Tony McCoy was due to partner Iktitaf, but he has now switched to the Gerard Butler-trained Compton Bolter, a Group Three winner on the Flat who will be making his hurdling debut.
