The case against a Co Meath man facing two charges of assault causing harm will be heard at Trim District Court in October, .

Kieran Ducie (42), Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, is alleged to have assaulted Elaine Buggle at that address on January 14th this year. He also allegedly assaulted her at the Newgrange Hotel, Bridge Street, Navan, on October 10th last. He was not at Trim District Court yesterday when the case was called because, his solicitor David Powderly said, his wife had had a baby overnight.

The court heard the DPP has directed the case be dealt with in the District Court and Judge Patrick Clyne was told there would be 12 witnesses.

He has adjourned the case for hearing on October 20th.
