Wales 17 New Zealand 43
New Zealand flyhalf Andrew Mehrtens masterminded his side's victory with 23 points against Wales at the Millenium Stadium today as the All Blacks won for the first time on their short European tour.
Mehrtens kicked five penalties and four conversions and kept the home side penned in their own half with an astute kicking game and set his backline alight.
The New Zealanders finished their three-match tour of Europe with one win, a 20-20 draw with France and the narrow 31-28 defeat to England.
The All Blacks dominated much of the match but were unable to convert their wealth of possession into points as they knocked the ball on or turned it over in the tackle until late in the game.
Wales did briefly get back into the match with a penalty try, but Doug Howlett's second touchdown of the half pushed the All Blacks out to a comfortable lead that was enhanced with late tries for replacement prop Kees Meeuws and centre Regan King.
