The membership of the strategy group established by the Tánaiste to undertake a review of enterprise and employment policy in the Republic was revealed today.
Under the chairmanship of Mr Eoin O'Driscoll, former managing director of the Irish operations of Lucent Technologies and current managing director of consulting firm Aderra, the Enterprise Strategy Group will develop a strategy to strengthen competitiveness and promote a knowledge-driven economy.
The group has been asked to report within nine months on how best to drive Irish employment and foster entrepreneurship.
The members of the group include; Mr Reg Shaw, managing director of Wyeth; Mr Des Geraghty, general president of SIPTU; Mr Alan Dwyer, managing director of Eurostyle, Mr Rory O'Donnell, director of the National Economic and Social Council of Ireland; Dr John Hegarty, provost of Trinity College Dublin; Mr Fank Kenny, who serves on a number of private boards, Ms Rita Gunther McGrath, asst professor at Columbia Business School; Mr Jim Hoey, managing director of Masonite Ireland; Mr Hugh Friel, managing director of Kerry Group; Mr Nicky Hartery, Dell's European manufacturing operations manager; Mr David Griffin, chief risk office at AIB; Mr Martin McVicar, managing director of Combilift Ltd; Mr John Sutton, professor of economics at the London School of Economics; Ms Liavan Mallin, former businesswoman of the year and member of the Board of Trustees and Governing Board at Dublin City University and Ms Mary Meaney, the director of the Institute of Technology in Blanchardstown.
