Racing:Misty For Me put up a gutsy front-running performance to claim the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh as hot favourite Memory failed to shine. Memory was sent off the even-money market leader after notching three successive victories.

Jockey Richard Hughes was happy to settle the Richard Hannon-trained challenger towards the back of the pack as Seamus Heffernan took control on Misty For Me, but the distress signals were evident two furlongs from home.

While Hughes tried his best to get a response from Memory, she lacked the electric turn of foot she displayed in the Cherry Hinton and her rider was not too hard on her, coasting home for sixth.

Heffernan was enjoying a dream run up front though and 10-1 shot Misty For Me kept finding to first repel the run of better-fancied stablemate Together before holding off Laughing Lashes. The daughter of Galileo finished a length to the good with Kissable producing a late charge for third.

Aidan O’Brien is planning to step up to a mile with the winner, adding: “She’s very progressive. The day she won her maiden was only her second start and she has progressed with every run.

“Her dam is a half-sister to Fasliyev so there is speed there. The Galileo’s don’t know when to give up. She’s so courageous and has the pace to go. Seamus always felt she was crying out for a mile. We’ll have a look at the Fillies’ Mile at Ascot for her while France (Prix Marcel Boussac) is also a possible. She’s not short of speed and stays very well.”
