Workers on the site were evacuated. One employee, who declined to be named, said they were told the evacuation was due to a fire drill. Others refused to comment.

The company said an investigation into the incident was underway and that the Health & Safety Authority (HSA) had been informed.

A spokesman for the HSA confirmed it had been notified and said an investigation team was on its way to the site.

The Point Village is a large development of residential and commercial units circling the Point Depot venue, now called the 02.
