London - The annual Leonid meteor storm came and went yesterday morning, lighting up the American sky in a firework display reported to have reached 2,600 shooting stars an hour.
Sadly for people in Europe, the shower peaked in bright day when it was before dawn in the US. "I've never seen it like this. I don't recall seeing this many meteors ever," said Mr Rick Yessayian, a school teacher in Montebello, California, who organises an annual meteor-watching party near Los Angeles.
