British TV comedian Mr Michael Barrymore and two other men have been released without charge on police bail.
They had been questioned following the death of a 31-year-old meat factory worker who was found unconscious in a swimming pool at the star's home.
Mr Barrymore (49) was arrested on suspicion of committing a variety of drugs offences.
The two other men were arrested on suspicion of murdering Stuart Lubbock.
All three men spent the day at Harlow police station being interviewed by detectives investigating Mr Lubbock's death.
Det Supt Mr Ian McNeill, who is leading the investigation, said all three men had been released without charge on police bail pending further inquiries. He said all three were scheduled to return to Harlow police station on August 15th.
In a statement Mr Barrymore's manager and agent, Ms Anne Chudleigh, said: "Michael Barrymore has at all times sought to co-operate with Essex Police in relation to their investigation concerning the death of Mr Lubbock. They have no suspicions concerning Michael Barrymore in relation to the circumstances surrounding the tragic death.
"He now wants to face up to his personal problems and has decided to undergo intensive treatment. No immediate decision will be taken about Michael's future work commitments but ITV and LWT have welcomed his decision to undergo treatment."
