Equestrian: Defending champion, Germany's Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum won her third show jumping World Cup last night in Las Vegas but was pushed all the way by America's Mclain Ward.
Neither of their respective mounts, Shutterfly nor Sapphire, faulted over the three-day finals but California-born Michaels-Beerbaum went into the concluding round with a two-point advantage having been faster than Ward in Friday’s jump-off class.
Ireland’s sole representative at Las Vegas, Florida-based Darragh Kerins, finished 25th in the overall standings with Night Train.
