Belgrade - Serbia's ultra-nationalist and royalist parties said they could form a coalition with the country's Socialists after the ruling Socialist party of Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic failed to win an outright majority in parliament.
Mr Milosevic's SPS-led coalition won only 98 of the 250 assembly seats in the vote, well short of the number they needed to ensure outright control of parliament.
Meanwhile, the Serbian Radical party of former paramilitary leader, Mr Vojislav Seselj, took 80 seats to become the second political party in Serbia, with the Serbian Renewal Movement of royalist Vuk Draskovic gaining 45. Thirteen seats went to minor parties.
