Sinn Féin’s Gerry Adams has announced a minor reshuffle of the party’s Oireachtas spokespeople.
The prime responsibilities of nine of its 14 TDs remain unchanged.This includes Mary Lou McDonald’s public expenditure portfolio. Donegal South West TD Pearse Doherty remains as finance spokesman.
The most significant change will see Donegal North East Deputy Pádraig MacLochlainn moving from foreign affairs to justice, replacing Jonathan O’Brien, who moves to education. Seán Crowe will be the party’s new spokesman on foreign affairs.
Martin Ferris and Micheál Colreavy will swap, with the former moving to agriculture and Mr Colreavy taking over at communications, energy and natural resources. Jobs and public enterprise spokesman Peader Toibin, a fluent Irish speaker, also takes on Gaeltacht affairs.
