One of the Ukrainian experts investigating the crash of a Russian aircraft over the Black Sea said today it was highly probable a missile caused the mid-air explosion, Interfax reported.
"Unfortunately one can say that the Tu-154 catastrophe occurred as a result of a missile blast," said the investigator, who asked to remain anonymous.
Seventy-six people, mostly Israeli, were killed when the Sibir airlines Tu-154 aircraft exploded during a flight from Tel Aviv to Novosibirsk last Thursday.
The Ukrainian government, which sent experts to the crash site near Sochi, has repeatedly denied one of its S-200 missiles could have accidentally shot down the aircraft during military exercises.
