The body of a German tourist who disappeared after a boating accident in Co Fermanagh last month has been recovered, police said today.

Edgar Greinert, 68, was one of two men who died when their hired cabin cruiser ran aground on an island in Lough Erne.

Local people discovered the body in the lough last night and alerted the coastguard.

The body of Mr Greinert's friend and fellow holidaymaker Ernst Carl Lipps, was recovered from the lough more than a fortnight ago.

The men had visited the Morth for a summer boating holiday every year for more than a decade and there was shock in Fermanagh that the experienced boatmen had died in a simple accident.
