An 11-year-old girl - who had been missing from her home in Co Cork since Friday night - was reunited with her parents last night.
Gardaí said Catherine O'Donnell - a member of the Travelling community - had been hiding in woods close to her family's encampment in Pullerick, Crookstown.
She was said to have been "weak and upset" but otherwise appeared to be well. Gardaí, who helped organise an extensive search in the area, expressed relief that she had been found and plan to speak to the 11-year-old later today.
Her parents had contacted gardaí last weekend after she failed to return to the caravan she shared with her siblings on Friday.
Gardaí expressed worry when a girl fitting her description was reported to have been spotted hitching on the Crookstowen to Bantry road.
