The National Disease Surveillance Centre (NDSC) in Dublin has welcomed a report from a US national body which rejects a link between autism and childhood immunisation with the mumps, measles and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
The US Institute of Medicine concluded that evidence showed no association between the MMR vaccine and autism spectrum disorders. The NDSC's director, Dr Darina O'Flanagan, urged all parents to bring their children for vaccination when appropriate.
