Mobile group iTouch reports £1.8m profit

The mobile services company, part-owned by Independent News & Media, said revenue had increased 29 per cent to £78.0 million last year - up from £60.3 million in 2003.

Annual pre-tax profits, excluding exceptional items, were £3.7 million compared with a £4.9 million loss in 2003.

The company said this was "despite significant investment in launches into new territories, such as France and Poland, and in the territories acquired with Jippii", the Finnish mobile services provider.

Company chairman Mr Ivan Fallon said the group was well positioned to take advantage of the forecast growth in demand for mobile content in Europe.
