The late Molly Keane would probably have enjoyed the joke that this charming little volume should be the last of her books to be published. In fact, it is a reprint from the edition which first appeared in 1985, when Molly Keane was a mere octogenarian. The recipes, as might be expected, bring a strong whiff of the Edwardian, Anglo Irish nursery (Mrs Finn's Perfect Pancakes, Steamed Sponge Pudding, Coddled Eggs), but one or two of the dishes (Liver and Onion Casserole, Elspeth's Eggs a la Tripe) would surely produce a resounding Yuk!
