The journalist Ed Moloney was given another extension yesterday of the deadline by which he must hand over his notes of an interview with a loyalist charged with murdering the Belfast solicitor Mr Pat Finucane.
In the High Court in Belfast, Mr Justice Kerr granted an extension until Friday, when a date is likely to be fixed for Mr Moloney's application for judicial review. The Northern editor of the Sunday Tribune is challenging a ruling by the Belfast Recorder that he must hand over his notes of his 1990 interview with Mr William Stobie to the Stevens investigation team. He has refused to do so on the grounds that it would be a breach of journalistic ethics.
