Colin Montgomerie has backed down from his threat not to defend his title in the Volvo Scandinavian Masters in Stockholm next week.
A furious Montgomerie left the Open on Sunday saying: "I've pulled out of tournaments for the next two weeks. I can't handle it any more."
He was angry at journalists who wrote that he stormed off without speaking after his nightmare third round 84 at Muirfield.
The 39-year-old Scot was never listed to play this week's TNT Open in Holland, but to miss the one event where he is the defending champion would have been a sign of serious disillusionment.
Montgomerie's manager said today: "Whilst he is fed up, he is going to play in Sweden. He feels it is the right thing to do - he does not want to let the tournament down".
