A WOMAN exposed herself in a “mooning” incident outside Limerick District Court yesterday after she had been convicted of soliciting for prostitution in the city.

Larisa Sturzea (22), with an address at Marketplace, High Street, Limerick, struck the pose before zipping up her jeans again and walking away from court with a €200 fine.

Sturzea was one of three Romanian women who pleaded guilty to soliciting for the purposes of prostitution on June 6th.

As part of a mobile Garda patrol, Sgt Kevin O’Balfe, Henry Street Garda station, saw the women loitering on Thomas Street at about 10.40pm and cautioned them to move off.

Sgt O’Balfe came upon the women again 20 minutes later on the same street and then arrested them.

Sturzea’s solicitor, John Devane, told the court his client was a “young person” and was “easily influenced by others” and that she was “trying to support a young family”.

The court was told the women could face a maximum prison term of four weeks. However, Judge Eamon O’Brien imposed a €200 fine with 90 days to pay.

Two other women, Angelica Farcas (37) and Alina Sima (26), both with addresses at Marketplace, were also convicted and fined €200 each.
