Dublin's Colin Moran has been banned for four week's following an incident that earned him a yellow card during last Sunday's Leinster football semi final against Westmeath.
The ban was proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) and imposed by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC), according to a GAA statement released this afternoon.
Moran can appeal the ban through the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) but as it stands he will miss the Leinster final against Wexford on July 20th.
Moran was yellow carded by referee Pádraig Hughes after a challenge on Westmeath's Dermot Bannon but following the match the CCCC asked Hughes to review the incident and as a result imposed a four-week suspension, on a category-two offence (striking or dangerous play).
Dublin officials have been fiercely critical of the process which they claim was influenced by RTE's visual analysis of the incident after the game.
