Irish Yogurts Ltd in Clonakilty may be a small company, but its products are found in Tesco's 700 branches in Britain as well as in Selfridges and Harrods.
It also exports to Bahrain, Dubai and Saudi Arabia and will soon be supplying products to Aer Lingus for use on its main European services.
There was further good news last week when the six-year-old company signed a £500,000 own-brand yogurt contract with Tesco for the Irish market. The contract will create six more jobs at the Clonakilty plant, bringing employment there to 60.
Two years ago the company won the dairy and supreme award at the Tesco Ireland Irish Food and Drink Awards. That facilitated entry to the British market, said its founder and managing director, Mr Diarmuid O'Suilleabhain. Last year the company represented Ireland at the World Young Business Achievers competition in Portugal.
