Charlton 1 Liverpool 2
A second-half fightback saw Liverpool come from behind to beat Charlton 2-1 at The Valley and boost their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. The visitors had hit the crossbar through skipper Steven Gerrard, before Shaun Bartlett headed Charlton into the lead after 20 minutes. Liverpool were back on level terms soon after the restart when Fernando Morientes drove the ball past Dean Kiely from just inside the box and John Arne Riise won it with 11 minutes left.
Portsmouth 2 Middlesbrough 1
Matthew Taylor's first Premiership goal after 40 minutes and Aiyegbeni Yakubu's winner banished last Saturday's FA Cup blues for Portsmouth. The home side, beaten at arch rivals in the cup, fell behind to Malcolm Christie's first goal since September 2003. But with two new signings, Giannis Skopelitis and Aleksandar Rodic, making their debuts from the bench, Pompey had to defend stoutly in the last 20 minutes before clinching their first Premiership win since Boxing Day.
West Brom 2 Crystal Palace 2
Fitz Hall dented West Brom's survival hopes with a last-gasp equaliser for 10-man Palace in a pulsating Barclays Premiership clash at The Hawthorns. Albion looked to have snatched an unlikely victory as Kevin Campbell and Rob Earnshaw put them ahead to cancel out Andy Johnson's goal. But Hall cut short the celebrations with only seconds remaining to leave Bryan Robson's side five points adrift of safety.
Bolton 3 Tottenham 1
Two goals in the final five minutes of an extraordinary second half gave Bolton their sixth successive victory as Martin Jol's Spurs self destructed. Tal Ben Haim and Kevin Davies struck the goals to inflict more misery on a Tottenham side reduced to 10 men midway through the second period when Fredi Kanoute was given his marching orders for two bookable offences. That came after Jermain Defoe had scored his 17th goal of the season in cancelling out a controversial penalty scored by El Hadji Diouf.
