A former US Congressman has said he hopes initiatives will be taken soon that will provide the basis for a ceasefire.
Following a meeting with the Taoiseach in Government Buildings to conclude his talks with parties, North and South, Mr Bruce Morrison said the discovery of IRA bomb-making equipment in London sharpened the focus on what might destroy the opportunity for real peace negotiations.
The governments needed to convey the conviction that "these are the talks and that they are going to be infused with what it takes to make them meaningful political dialogue", he said.
