A mother and her daughter appeared in court in Galway again yesterday charged with entering the home of murder victim Mr Thomas Casey at Oranmore, Co Galway, on January 15th last, with intent to steal.
Mrs Kathleen Connors (55), of Greenfields, Newcastle, Galway, and her daughter Alison (21), of Killenaule, Co Tipperary, were remanded in custody.
Applying for the further remand in custody, Insp Tony Dowd said the Garda file on the investigation was not yet complete, but he expected it would be ready by the end of the week.
Mr Jarlath McInerney, solicitor for Mrs Kathleen Connors, said she was concerned with the delay in bringing the matter before the court.
Judge John Garavan said he appreciated the concern of the defence and remanded both women in custody to Galway District Court on April 10th.
