A 27-year-old mother of three has appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court charged in connection with a stabbing incident in the city over the weekend.
Eileen O'Driscoll, Killalagh Gardens, Knocknaheeny, Cork, is charged with assault causing harm to Brigid Nagle early on Saturday.
Ms Nagle is in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital after she was stabbed in the stomach following an incident outside a house at Killalagh Gardens on the city's northside.
She was transferred to Cork University Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for a wound to the abdomen.
Ms O'Driscoll was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Gurranabraher Garda station for questioning. She was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
She appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court on Saturday night.
Garda Donal Casey gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution of Ms O'Driscoll.
Insp Richard O'Regan applied for the accused to be remanded in custody until her next court appearance, tomorrow.
Judge Uinsin MacGruairc remanded Ms O'Driscoll in custody to Limerick Prison.
