Gardaí from Mountjoy Garda station have recovered a stolen Honda motorcycle and an loaded automatic 9mm hand gun in Dublin's city centre.
The seizure was made at Leinster Avenue after gardaí stopped a motorcycle that was being driven in the Ballybough area shortly before 9 pm last night.
The driver escaped gardaí and abandoned the bike and the firearm at Leinster Avenue.
He is described as being five feet, ten inches in height, of mid-20s age, with dark hair, and wearing a blue and grey jacket and dark bottoms.
