According to Met Éireann, the rain will die out during the morning as clearer weather spreads to all parts of the country, but scattered heavy or thundery showers will follow and will become widespread at times during the day.
Tonight, these scattered heavy or thundery showers will persist, mainly in the southwest, west and northwest, although other areas will be dry and clear.
