Gardai and emergency services attended the scne of a collision on the M1 northbound at the Balbriggan South exit.

The M1 is reported to be very icy in both directions.  Icy conditions are also reported in Sligo and Roscommon.

In Dublin, AA Roadwatch said drivers should reduce their speed significantly and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

Traffic restrictions are in place in Ballsbridge in Dublin due to the Top Gear Live event at the RDS. There is no parking available at the Simmonscourt.

Major upgrade works are continuing on the M50 and a temporary layout is now in place bothways at J6 Blanchardstown until Friday December 5th, approximately.

Lane closures are also in place both ways at the site of the old toll plaza each night from 8pm-6am until next Saturday.

In Meath, work on the M3 motorway continues at Barronstown, north of Ross Cross, from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday next week.

The Fairyhouse Winter Festival continues today at the Ratoath racecourse.

The first race is off at 12.35pm and the last is at 3.40pm. Traffic delays are expected through Ratoath and on the main N3/Navan Road approaching Fairyhouse Cross before and after the event.

In rail travel, there is some disruption to Dart services today.

Due to engineering works at Howth Junction, there will be service north of Connolly Station to Howth/Malahide, but stations from Malahide to Connolly will be served by commuter services.

Southside services will operate as normal to and from Connolly Station.

Northern commuter services will operate to and from Connolly Station and will not serve Tara and Pearse stations. These services will stop at all DART stations between Malahide and Connolly.
