THE snow falls which affected the country over the weekend have mostly disappeared. However, there may be slight snow and sleet showers in certain areas over the next few days, particularly the south east.
Mr Michael McAuliffe, of the Meteorological Service, said that although some areas might have rain and sleet, the weather would generally remain dry and clear. However, he warned that some roads could be affected by frost.
The Automobile Association warned motorists travelling in the midlands to be cautious as secondary roads were still icy and dangerous.
Roads in the Wicklow and Dublin mountains were also reported to be icy.
Most cross channel ferry services were running as normal yesterday, with the exception of Stena Lynx high speed service, which was not operating due harsh sailing conditions.
A spokeswoman for Aer Rianta said that flights were leaving on schedule at Dublin Airport.
