Wireless communications equipment maker Motorola said today it would not meet its first-quarter sales and earnings estimates - and may report a loss - because of a significant slowdown in orders across all of its business lines.
Motorola, the world's second largest wireless handset maker, warned last month that its first-quarter results would suffer from a slowdown in its personal communications and semiconductor businesses.
"If the slowdown persists, it expects to report an operating loss for the quarter," the company said.
