Harare - President Robert Mugabe's party has won a by-election in Harare's working-class suburb of Marondera, the official ZIANA news agency reported yesterday. Voter turnout was 32.88 per cent.
A former army brigadier, Mr Ambrose Mutinhiri of the ruling ZANU-PF party, won the by-election with 7,376 votes to 4,366 for Mr Shadreck Chipangura of the year-old opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
