Harare - Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe accused international observers yesterday of conniving with the opposition to declare a parliamentary election unfair, and said his government would seize more white-owned farms.
In Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second city, police threatened to shoot students if they marched out of their campus, the student leader, Mr Swithern Chirowodza, said. "We were supposed to have gone on a demonstration, but a police officer said he had orders to shoot students," said Mr Chirowodza, president of the students' representative council at the Bulawayo Polytechnic.
