Munster have completed the signing of New Zealand full-back Christian Cullen.

Munster have completed the signing of New Zealand full-back Christian Cullen.

The All Black's record-breaking try scorer has signed a three year contract with the province and is expected to join up with his new team-mates in the autumn.

Cullen (27) burst onto the international scene in 1996 and has since become his country's leading try scorer. He has scored 46 tries and a total of 236 test points.

"I'm really thrilled to be coming over to play with Munster," Cullen said. "I think it's a great opportunity to play with one of the most successful sides in European rugby."

Munster coach Alan Gaffney welcomed the signing having lost out on Chris Latham in May when the Australian full-back made an about-turn on joining the province.

"He is truly a player of enormous stature in the world game," Gaffney said.

"I think it's a huge tribute to Irish rugby but in particular to Munster that he has opted to continue his career with our squad. A great player deserves agreat squad."
