A 29-year-old mother of two who is accused of murdering her husband, whose body has not been found, was refused bail yesterday. Julie McGinley, from Windmill Drive, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, has denied murdering her husband Gerry (34), who was last seen alive in August.

Lord Justice Anthony Campbell refused Ms McGinley's bail application after a day-long hearing in the High Court in Belfast. The judge granted bail to her co-accused, Patrick McPadden (29), of Ann Street, Enniskillen, who is a native of Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.

A third defendant, Michael Monaghan (42), also from Ann Street, Enniskillen, who was in the furniture business with Mr McGinley, has not yet applied for bail.
