A man accused of murdering his brother in a drunken row was released on bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.

A man accused of murdering his brother in a drunken row was released on bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.

Mr Martin Joseph Murray (25) from Obins Avenue, Portadown, was alleged to have stabbed his brother Paul (36) while both were intoxicated.

A Crown lawyer said they had been drinking most of the day on July 10th and around 4.30 a.m. a fracas took place in their home. "The applicant had a large kitchen knife and during the fracas the deceased was stabbed six times," said the lawyer.

Mr Murray was released on bail of £1,500, ordered to stay off drink, live at his sister's home in Craigavon and report daily to the RUC.
