November 7th:Detectives "extremely concerned" about the disappearance of prostitute Tania Nicol (19), who vanished after leaving home in Ipswich, on October 30th.

December 2nd:Naked body found in a brook at Hintlesham, Suffolk, by a member of the public.

December 3rd:Detectives launch a major inquiry after the identity of the body is confirmed as that of Gemma Adams (25), a prostitute who vanished from the red light district of Ipswich in the early hours of November 15th.

Both women disappeared from the same area and detectives say there are "obvious similarities".

December 4th:Police warn Ipswich prostitutes to "look out for each other". They also say they are checking similar cases in East Anglia to try to establish if a serial killer could be at large.

December 6th:Police say Ms Adams had not been sexually assaulted.

December 8th:Forensic tests to be carried out on clothing found in the village where the body was discovered. A second naked body of a woman is found by police divers in water at Copdock Mill, near Ipswich, Suffolk.

December 9th:Police confirm second body is that of prostitute Tania Nicol. Body discovered in the same stretch of water as that of Ms Adams, say police, but around two miles away.There is no evidence that Ms Nicol has been sexually assaulted.

December 10th:Police say there are "striking similarities" between the deaths and have begun a linked murder investigation.

A body of a third prostitute in her 20s is found in woodland at Nacton. Efforts are being made to discover whether the third death is linked to the murders of Ms Adams and Ms Nicol.

December 11th:Detectives are also examining the body of a woman found in a river near Crowland, Lincolnshire, a few miles from the A1, on Sunday, it is revealed. Suffolk Police say there is no evidence to link that discovery with the other three deaths.

Police also trying to establish if the deaths of the three prostitutes in Suffolk are linked to the murders or disappearances of five other prostitutes in East Anglia over the past 13 years.

Suffolk police say they are worried about two other prostitutes, Paula Clennell (24), not seen since late on Saturday, and Annette Nicholls (29), who has not been seen since December 4th. Asst chief constable of Suffolk Jacqui Cheer tells prostitutes to stay off the streets.

Ipswich businessman Graeme Kalbraier offers £25,000 (€37,032) reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers. The woman found in Nacton is named locally as Anneli Alderton (24) of Harwich, Essex.
