Auch - Two Dutch couples murdered in south-west France last week could have been killed on orders from disgruntled creditors, sources close to the investigation said yesterday. The inquiry focused on a possible settling of scores over a business deal that went wrong, the sources said. The couples' bodies were found on Sunday in an isolated holiday home near the village of Montfort. Police helped by dogs searched the house again yesterday for any traces of drugs.
The State Prosecutor, Mr Guy Etienne, who is leading the investigation, told a news conference police were looking into whether the killers came from abroad or could be local thieves. He said an autopsy showed the two couples were killed with extreme savagery.
