Retail group Musgrave has offered €57 million to buy the Londis chain of stores in Britain.
According to a statement today from the company, which that owns Supervalu and Centra, the deal has already been accepted by the Londis board and will be considered and voted on by shareholders on December 30th.
More than 2,200 stores and 1933 members are involved in the proposed deal. Combined turnover from these outlets is €1.4 billion.
If accepted, Musgrave will take control by the end of January 2004.
