The Musgrave Group which own both the SuperValu and Centra franchise as well as a growing number of retail outlets outside of Ireland has announced that its before tax profit for last year was up 14.2 per cent to €81m.
Turnover increased by 4.5 per cent to €4.6 billion while net debt was reduced by €139m to €186m in 2006.
The company's Centra franchise grew by 17 per cent to €1.2 billion, and sales to members of the SuperValu franchise network grew by 11 per cent to over €2 billion.
In Northern Ireland, sales of €556m were up 9 per cent on 2005 throughout its SuperValu, Centra and DayToday outlets.

The company said 75 per cent of all products sold in SuperValu and Centra stores in the Republic was sourced or made in Ireland.
