A Muslim couple were among five people killed in separatist-related violence in Indian-administered Kashmir, police said today.
Unidentified gunmen barged into the home of Mr Ali Mohammed and his wife, Ms Misra Begum, and shot them dead late yesterday in the village of Chak Reshipora, near Bandipora, 60 km north of the state summer capital Srinagar.
Police blamed Muslim militants for the killings, but no group has yet claimed responsibility.
Meanwhile a Special Police Officer abducted by suspected Muslim militants yesterday was shot dead today in the southern Kashmir district of Anantnag.
