Sarajevo - The Bosnian Muslim who led the defence of Srebrenica before thousands of the town's men were massacred by Serbs in 1995 was interviewed by war crimes investigators yesterday, United Nations officials said.
The presence of Mr Naser Oric at the UN compound in Sarajevo provoked a violent protest by hundreds of Srebrenica women, who burst in to demand his freedom.
A UN spokesman denied Mr Oric had been arrested and said he had come in of his own accord.
