Myhome.ie must drop advert after ASAI upholds complaint

An advertisement by property website Myhome

An advertisement by property website Myhome.iemust be shelved after a complaint by a rival company was upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI).

An advertisement with the slogan "With more Dublin homes sold than any other property website" was criticised by rival website Daft.ieon the grounds the claim could not be substantiated. It sought clarification as to how this claim was measured.

Myhome.ie, owned by The Irish Times Limited, said it was advertising properties in Dublin from 288 estate offices and had operated in this market since February 2001. The ASAI concluded it had not provided sufficient evidence it had sold more Dublin homes than any other property website – and could not claim to be "number one for home sales in Dublin".
