In battles of two unseeded players, Kevin Anderson beat Illya Marchenko 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (9-7) 6-4 4-6 6-1 while Grigor Dimitrov saw off Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 7-5 7-5 7-6 (7-5).
