National and city train and bus services curtailed over the holiday period

Last buses tonight in Dublin will leave at 10 p.m. However, the Nitelink service will operate normally. Sunday services will operate on all Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus routes tomorrow, followed by the Nitelink service. The last DART train from Howth tonight will leave at 21.09 and from Connolly Station to Howth at 21.17. The last DART train from Bray will leave at 21.07 and from Connolly Station to Bray at 21.44. A Sunday DART service will operate tomorrow.

A Sunday service will operate on national train routes tomorrow, but there will be some additional services today. These include an 11.25 non-stop train to Cork from Heuston Station, with the normal Cork service (stopping at all stations) leaving Heuston at 11.35. Other additional services today include: 11.30 to Galway; 1.40 to Tralee; 14.00 to Cork; 19.25 to Cork; 21.30 to Tralee, all from Heuston Station; and an 18.10 train to Belfast from Connolly Station. Another additional train is a 7.50 from Boyle, Co Roscommon, to Connolly Station. The last train from Dublin to Cork tonight is at 21.00, while the last train to Belfast is at 20.30. The 20.10 to Belfast tonight is cancelled.

The first train to Belfast tomorrow is at 13.00, with subsequent trains at 15.20, 16.50 and 19.00. Cancelled trains tomorrow include the 8.40 from Galway, the 12.25 to Limerick, the 17.20 from Limerick, the 16.00 from Westport, the 16.20 from Kildare to Waterford and the 18.25 from Cork. An additional service leaves Galway at 14.00.

Most roadworks in Dublin city have been suspended for the holiday period. However, according to AA Roadwatch, roadworks are continuing on the inbound dual carriageway of the Naas Road east of Rathcoole. The construction of a bus corridor is continuing on the Stillorgan Road. Roadworks continue also on the Sandyford Road, approaching the Enniskerry Road; on Upper Leeson Street; on the outbound Malahide Road; outbound from Amiens Street to Buckingham Street; and outbound at the North Strand at Annesley Place. Road reconstruction, outbound, at the Five Lamps on the North Strand, is also causing delays. There are roadworks and temporary lights in operation on the N1 at Julianstown, north of the Balbriggan bypass, and in the city both Island Street, between Bonham Street and Watling Street, and Essex Street West are closed to through traffic until the New Year. Guild Street, off Sheriff Street, is closed off because of a collapsed sewer.

In Co Carlow roadworks at Kildavan, on the border with Wexford, have restarted and are causing delays. Road resurfacing is taking place on the N4 at Rathowen in Co Longford and there are diversions on the N4 at Ballinafid.

In Co Louth temporary lights and one-way traffic are in operation on the N2 at Collon village, while work is ongoing on the N2 north of Ardee. Resurfacing work on the N53 at Hackballscross is also causing delays.

In Limerick city a one-way traffic system is in place at Raheen, with temporary lights and roadworks on the N29 at Mungret and Clarina. Single-lane traffic is in operation on the N24 at Oola railway bridge. In Cork city traffic is still one-way through Great William Street. Michael Street is closed in Waterford and in Galway the Newcastle entrance to the university is closed due to building work.
