Navy divers today resumed their search for the body of the skipper of the Rising Sunfishing vessel, which sank off Co Wexford nearly two weeks ago.

A sub-aqua team yesterday recovered the body of a local diver who went missing while searching for Pat Colfer in a search zone about six miles from Kilmore Quay.

Billy O'Connor (49) from New Ross, failed to return to the surface on Thursday of last week after probing the 50-metre deep shipwreck. A post mortem examination is due to be carried out on Mr O'Connor's body at Wexford General Hospital today.

Navy divers, who have been severely hampered by bad weather and poor diving conditions, will today continue their search for Mr Colfer, a 37-year-old father of two from Slade in Co Wexford.
