Bogota - The Colombian government's top negotiator has arrived in rebel-held territory for talks with the country's largest guerrilla group. The talks are aimed at reviving the peace process.
Peace commissioner Mr Camilo Gomez told reporters he wanted to break a deadlock which began last November when the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) walked out of talks.
"We're working to get the dialogue going again. Together with the FARC we're looking for ways to relaunch the process," Mr Gomez told reporters as he arrived in southern Colombia.
Almost as he spoke, news emerged of more killings. Suspected paramilitaries stormed into the northern Colombian town of Ovejas early yesterday, killing 25 people and setting 25 houses on fire, police said.
